Be sure to attend Make Music Denver on Friday, June 21st from 9 until 10am. The Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars will be performing on the north side of the 16th Street Mall, at the Clock Tower Plaza (near Arapahoe St, by Corner Bakery). It will be a lot of fun – come join us and enjoy some breakfast!
On Sunday, June 16th, you’re in for a real treat – Vern Baumer’s Mile High Jazz Gathering. They will perform from 2 until 5pm at the Westminster Elks Club. Clarinetist and vocalist Vern Baumer has been active on the Denver jazz scene since 1970, when he formed the New Orleans Jazz Gathering. Over the years since, the band has played regular gigs at various bars, restaurants and jazz festivals. Joining Vern for this date will be Kevin Bollinger, trumpet; Bob Green, Piano; Rory Thomas, banjo; and Bill Watkins, drums. The UCD Claim Jumpers will perform from 1:30 until 2pm.
The Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars will perform at approximately 3:50pm. This will be their final performance at the Denver Jazz Club before their appearances at the Umbria, Italy, and Montreux, Switzerland Jazz Festivals!!
