THE DJC YOUTH ALL-STARS ARE LOOKING FOR DEDICATED HIGH SCHOOL PIANO, BASS, TUBA, AND GUITAR\/BANJO PLAYERS \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

THE AUDITION MUSIC AND RECORDING HAVE NOW BEEN POSTED AT: <\/em><\/strong>http:\/\/bandresourcesunlimited.com\/downloads\/<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

We have 6 players graduating this year, and we\u2019re looking for 2 replacement high school musicians to take two last spots, since all other positions have now been filled.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

WHEN WILL AUDITIONS TAKE PLACE? Sunday (3-4:30pm), May 1st, at\u00a0St. Andrew’s Village (13801 E. Yale Ave, Aurora).\u00a0If all positions are not filled on the 1st, we’ll continue to audition on the following Sundays in May.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

WHAT EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED? Intermediate to advanced jazz experience is preferred, but classical players are also encouraged to audition.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

MONTHLY CLINICIANS: Retired UC-Denver Music<\/em> Professor Bill Clark, tuba player\/leader of the Queen City Jazz Band, is a regular clinician. Additional professional jazz musicians \u00a0will be doing clinics from time to time as well.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

REHEARSALS: Weekly rehearsals take place at the Kolacny Music Studio (28 E. Jewell Ave, Denver), from 6:30 until 9:00pm,\u00a0each Sunday. Some holiday weekends and a few other Sundays may need to be skipped.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

PERFORMANCE GIGS? We feature this all star-band during each monthly Denver Jazz Club session,\u00a0professional jazz festivals, and performance gigs throughout the area. The Youth All-Stars will be performing at the 2016 Sacramento, Evergreen and Summit Jazz Festivals! They are also taking a performance tour to New Orleans at the beginning of August. We are hoping to perform in Europe during the summer of 2017.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

SCHOOL CONFLICTS? No performances or rehearsals conflict with school activities.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

COST: Each selected student will be required to become a member of the Denver Jazz Club ($10 yearly\u00a0fee). The monthly dues (4 weekly sessions) run $140, and are payable at the start of each\u00a0month.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

WILL PAID GIGS REDUCE FUTURE TRIP COSTS? Any money the band is paid will go towards future trip\u00a0expenses.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE? The Denver Jazz Club does have financial assistance available for students who need help with monthly dues and\/or private jazz lessons.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
