THE DJC YOUTH ALL-STARS ARE LOOKING FOR A DEDICATED HIGH SCHOOL PIANO PLAYER WHO CAN TAKE THE PLACE OF OUR GRADUATING SENIOR<\/strong><\/p>\n

THE AUDITION MUSIC AND RECORDING HAVE NOW BEEN POSTED AT: http:\/\/bandresourcesunlimited.com\/downloads\/.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We have 6 players graduating this year, and we\u2019re looking for a replacement high school pianist to fill the last vacant spot.<\/strong><\/p>\n

WHEN WILL AUDITIONS TAKE PLACE? Sunday, May 22nd (3-5pm), at Kolacny Music Studios (28 E. Yale Ave, Denver). If the piano position is not filled on the 22nd, we’ll continue to audition on Sunday, June 5th (7-9pm).<\/strong><\/p>\n

WHAT EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED? Piano players who have at least intermediate abilities are encouraged to audition. No prior jazz experience is necessary.<\/strong><\/p>\n

MONTHLY CLINICIANS: Retired UC-Denver Music Professor Bill Clark, tuba player\/leader of the Queen City Jazz Band, is a regular clinician. Additional professional jazz musicians will be doing clinics from time to time as well.<\/strong><\/p>\n

REHEARSALS: Weekly rehearsals take place at the Kolacny Music Studio (28 E. Jewell Ave, Denver), from 6:30 until 9:00pm, each Sunday. Some holiday weekends and a few other Sundays may need to be skipped.<\/strong><\/p>\n

PERFORMANCE GIGS? We feature this all star-band during each monthly Denver Jazz Club session, professional jazz festivals, and performance gigs throughout the area. The Youth All-Stars will be performing at the 2016 Sacramento, Evergreen and Summit Jazz Festivals! They are also taking a performance tour to New Orleans at the beginning of August. We are hoping to perform in Europe during the summer of 2017.<\/strong><\/p>\n

SCHOOL CONFLICTS? No performances or rehearsals conflict with school activities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

COST: Each selected student will be required to become a member of the Denver Jazz Club ($10 yearly fee). The monthly dues (4 weekly sessions) run $140, and are payable at the start of each month.<\/strong><\/p>\n

WILL PAID GIGS REDUCE FUTURE TRIP COSTS? Any money the band is paid will go toward future trip expenses.<\/strong><\/p>\n

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE? The Denver Jazz Club does have financial assistance available for students who need help with monthly dues and\/or private jazz lessons.<\/strong><\/p>\n
