THE DJC YOUTH ALL-STARS ARE LOOKING FOR DEDICATED HIGH SCHOOL TENOR SAX, TRUMPET, TROMBONE, GUITAR OR BANJO, PIANO AND DRUM SET PLAYERS!<\/strong><\/p>\n

THE AUDITION MUSIC AND RECORDING HAVE NOW BEEN POSTED AT: http:\/\/bandresourcesunlimited.com\/downloads\/.<\/strong><\/p>\n

WHEN WILL AUDITIONS TAKE PLACE? Sunday (6:30-9pm), April 23rd, at Denver Percussion (7399 S. Tucson Way, Suite B2, Centennial, 80112. Call-backs, if needed, will take place on Sunday, April 30th.<\/strong><\/p>\n

WHAT EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED? Intermediate to advanced jazz experience is preferred.<\/strong><\/p>\n

MONTHLY CLINICIANS: Retired UC-Denver Music Professor Bill Clark, tuba player\/leader of the Queen City Jazz Band, is a regular clinician. Additional professional jazz musicians do clinics from time to time as well.<\/strong><\/p>\n

REHEARSALS: Weekly rehearsals take place at Denver Percussion, from 6:30 until 9:00 pm, each Sunday. Some holiday weekends and a few other Sundays may need to be skipped.<\/strong><\/p>\n

PERFORMANCE GIGS? We feature this all star-band during each monthly Denver Jazz Club session, professional jazz festivals, and performance gigs throughout the area. The Youth All-Stars will be performing at the 2017 Evergreen, Denver Vintage, and 2018 Sacramento Jazz Festivals! We are planning to perform in New York City during the summer of 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n

SCHOOL CONFLICTS? No performances or rehearsals conflict with school activities.<\/strong><\/p>\n

COST: Each selected student will be required to become a member of the Denver Jazz Club ($10 yearly fee). The monthly dues (4 weekly sessions) run $140, and are payable at the start of each month.<\/strong><\/p>\n

WILL PAID GIGS REDUCE FUTURE TRIP COSTS? Any money the band is paid will go towards future trip expenses.<\/strong><\/p>\n

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE? The Denver Jazz Club does have financial assistance available for students who need help with monthly dues and\/or private jazz lessons.<\/strong><\/p>\n
