THE DJC YOUTH ALL-STARS\u00a0ARE LOOKING FOR DEDICATED,\u00a0<\/i>HARD-WORKING, 9TH, 10TH and 11TH GRADE CLARINET, TROMBONE, GUITAR OR BANJO, PIANO, AND DRUM SET PLAYERS<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

THE AUDITION MUSIC AND RECORDING HAVE NOW BEEN POSTED AT:\u00a0<\/i><\/strong>http:\/\/bandresourcesunlimited.com\/downloads\/.<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n

We have 4 players graduating this year, so we\u2019re looking for replacement 9th, 10th and 11th grade musicians to take their spots.<\/i><\/strong><\/p>\n

WHEN WILL AUDITIONS TAKE PLACE?<\/strong>\u00a0Sundays, April 13th (6:30-7:30pm), and April 27th (11:30am-1:30pm), at Flesher-Hinton Music Store (3936 Tennyson St. in Denver).<\/i><\/p>\n

WHAT EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED?<\/strong>\u00a0Intermediate to advanced jazz experience is preferred.<\/i><\/p>\n

MONTHLY\u00a0CLINICIANS:<\/strong> Retired\u00a0UC-Denver Music Professor Bill Clark, tuba player\/leader of the Queen City Jazz Band, is a regular clinician. Additional professional jazz musicians \u00a0will be doing clinics from time to time as well.<\/i><\/p>\n

REHEARSALS:<\/strong>\u00a0Weekly rehearsals take place at Flesher-Hinton Music Store, from 6:30 until\u00a0<\/i>9:00 pm, each Sunday. Some holiday weekends and a few other Sundays may need to be skipped.<\/i><\/p>\n

PERFORMANCE\u00a0GIGS?<\/strong>\u00a0We feature this all star-band during each monthly Denver Jazz Club\u00a0 sessions, professional jazz festivals, and performance gigs throughout the area. The \u00a0Youth All-Stars will be performing at the 2014 Sacramento, Evergreen and Summit Jazz Festivals! We are hoping to perform at the Montreux, Switzerland and Umbria, Italy Jazz Festivals during the summer of 2015.<\/i><\/p>\n

SCHOOL\u00a0CONFLICTS?<\/strong>\u00a0The Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars only agree to do performances that do not conflict with school activities.<\/i><\/p>\n

COST:<\/strong>\u00a0Each selected student will be required to become a member of the Denver Jazz Club ($10 \u00a0\u00a0yearly fee). The monthly dues (4 weekly sessions) run $120, and are payable at the start of each month.<\/i><\/p>\n

WILL PAID GIGS REDUCE FUTURE TRIP COSTS?<\/strong>\u00a0Any money the band is paid will go towards future trip expenses.<\/i><\/p>\n

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE?<\/strong>\u00a0The Denver Jazz Club does have financial assistance available for students who need help with monthly dues and\/or private jazz lessons.<\/i><\/p>\n
