High School Bass, Tuba or Trumpet Player Needed to Fill a Vacancy in the Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars

GREAT PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITY FOR HIGH SCHOOL MUSICIANS!!!!! 

Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Star Auditions are Taking Place on Sunday, September 12th for High School Musicians who play Bass, Tuba and Trumpet (Must be COVID-19 fully vaccinated, or scheduled to be COVID-19 fully vaccinated).

WHEN WILL AUDITIONS TAKE PLACE? Sunday, September 12th (3:45-6:30pm), at Denver Percussion (7399 S. Tucson Way, Centennial). 

WHAT EXPERIENCE IS NEEDED? Some jazz experience is preferred, but not necessary. 

MONTHLY CLINICIANS: Professional jazz musicians do clinics from time to time. 

REHEARSALS: Weekly rehearsals take place at Denver Percussion (7399 S. Tucson Way, Centennial), from 3:45 until 6:30pm, each Sunday. 

PERFORMANCE GIGS? We feature our band during each monthly Denver Jazz Club session, professional jazz festivals, and performance gigs throughout the area. Past performances have included concert tours to New York City, and international jazz festivals at Montreux, Switzerland; Umbria, Italy; and Kongsberg, Norway. The Youth All-Stars will be performing on a summer 2022 European concert tour. 

SCHOOL CONFLICTS? No performances or rehearsals conflict with school activities. 

COST: Each selected student will be required to become a member of the Denver Jazz Club ($10 yearly fee). The monthly dues (4 weekly sessions) run $165, and are payable at the start of each 4 week period. 

WILL PAID GIGS REDUCE FUTURE TRIP COSTS? Any money the band is paid will go toward future trip expenses.

An explanation that important COVID-19 vaccination proof is now required for entry to the Denver Jazz Club monthly sessions, in order to protect all our Denver Jazz Club members, is highlighted in this newsletter. Lance Acker and Friends will be featured at the Denver Jazz Club’s session, on September 19th, followed by the Summit Hot Seven on October 17th. Annual Denver Jazz Club Potluck Picnic to Feature Your Father’s Mustache Band

On Sunday, August 15th, from 1:30 to 5pm, it’s the annual Denver Jazz Club Membership Potluck Picnic, at the home of Decker and Ann Westerberg (310 Shadycroft Dr) in Littleton. The Denver Jazz Club furnishes brats, burgers, hot dogs and drinks. Admission is $10.

Please bring a dish to share – salad, appetizer, dessert or snack, and enjoy an afternoon of great music and socializing!

At the picnic it’s the terrific sounds of Your Father’s Mustache Band. This will be a rip-roaring good time! You won’t want to miss it!!

The Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars will perform from 1:30-2pm, and in between the 3 sets of Your Father’s Mustache Band.
