September 16th DJC Session to Feature the Summit Hot Seven

On Sunday, September 16th be sure to attend the Denver Jazz Club Session at the Westminster Elks Lodge from 2:00 until 5:00pm. It’s the wonderful sounds of Chaz Bowles and the Summit Hot Seven. Band members include: Chaz Bowles (trumpet/vocals), Bill Pontarelli (clarinet), Marti Henry (trombone), Scott Grove (piano), Rory Thomas (guitar/banjo), Colin Gieg (bass), and Don Grove (drums). The DJC Youth All-Stars will also perform from 3:45 until 4:15 pm. See you on September 16th!!

Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars to Perform at Avo’s Jazz Fest in Ft. Collins – Monday, 9/3 (Labor Day), 1-2pm

Be sure and catch our very talented DJC Youth All-Stars at the Annual Avo’s Jazz Fest on Labor Day, September 3rd, from 1 until 2pm. Jazz groups will be performing on two stages from 1 until 9:30pm, including the Jazz Cookers and the Poudre River Irregulars. A festival badge costs just $12 for the day. Avo’s is located at 605 S. Mason St. in Ft. Collins. Hope to see you there!

Sunday, August 19th (2-5pm) – The Leaders Band at the Annual Potluck DJC Summer Picnic

On Sunday, August 19th be sure to attend the Denver Jazz Club’s Annual Potluck Picnic at the Westerberg’s home (310 Shadycroft Drive, Littleton) from 2:00 until 5:00 pm. The Denver Jazz Club furnishes brats, burgers, hot dogs and drinks. Please bring a dish to share – salad, appetizer, dessert, or snack, and enjoy an afternoon of great music and socializing! It’s the exciting sounds of the Leaders Band, comprised of the leaders of several popular metro Denver jazz groups: Chaz Bowles, trumpet; Roger Campbell, clarinet; Eric Staffeldt, trombone; Hank Troy, piano; Dennis Condreay, banjo; Bill Clark, tuba; and Tony Pantelis, drums. The $8.00 admission entitles you to a great cookout, soft drinks, and beer. The Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars will also perform from 2:45 until 3:00 pm, and then again from 3:45 until 4:15 pm.
