Sunday, May 17th – Westminster Elks Lodge: Vern Baumer’s Mile High Jazz Gathering (1:30-5pm)

On Sunday, May 17th, you’re in for a real treat – Vern Baumer’s Mile High Jazz Gathering. They will perform from 1:30 until 5pm at the Westminster Elks Club. Clarinetist and vocalist Vern Baumer has been active on the Denver jazz scene since 1970, when he formed the New Orleans Jazz Gathering. Over the years since, the band has played regular gigs at various bars, restaurants and jazz festivals. Joining Vern for this date will be Kevin Bollinger, trumpet; Ed Stephen, guitar; Bobby Green, Piano; Rory Thomas, banjo; Bill Blackman, bass; and Bill Watkins, drums. The UCD Claim Jumpers will perform from 1:30 until 2pm.

The Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars will perform at approximately 3:50pm. This will be their last performance at the Denver Jazz Club before their Sacramento                                   performance tour!

On Sunday, April 19th, the Denver Jazz Club will Feature 4 Terrific Bands!

On Sunday, April 19th be sure to attend the Denver Jazz Club Session at the Westminster Elks Lodge from 1:30 until 5:00pm! It’s the annual Ron Cope Scholarship Benefit featuring the Hot Tomatoes Dance Orchestra, the Queen City Jazz Band, the UC Denver Claim Jumpers, and the Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars. They are all wonderful, so don’t miss it! Each of the pro and college bands will perform a set, and the Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars will perform an abbreviated set around 3:50pm. Mardi Gras Celebration – The Queen City Jazz Band – Sunday, February 15th (1:30-5pm) at Westminster Elks Club

On Sunday, February 15th be sure to attend the Denver Jazz Club’s Mardi Gras Celebration! Beads, masks, and a cup of Mardi Gras Gumbo Soup will be provided to all in attendance!! Be sure to wear your favorite Mardi Gras hat. The music goes from from 1:30 until 5:00pm. It’s the entertaining sounds of the Queen City Jazz Band! Band members include: Leader Bill Clark (tuba), Kevin Bollinger (trumpet), John Bredenberg (reeds), Eric Staffeldt (trombone), Hank Troy (piano), Rory Thomas (banjo), and Tony Pantelis (drums), with renowned singer Wende Harston. The UC Denver Claim Jumpers will perform from 1:30 until 2pm, and the Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars from 3:50 until 4:15 pm. See you on Sunday, February 15th!!
