The January/February 2015 Denver Jazz Club Newsletter is now available for download. There is info on the January 18th performance of the Crystal Swing Band, and the February 15th Mardi Gras performance of the Queen City Jazz Band.

Sunday, January 18th DJC Session to Feature the Crystal Swing Band with Kristin Anderson, the Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars, and the UC Denver Claim Jumpers

Be sure to attend the Sunday, January 18th Denver Jazz Club Session at the Westminster Elks Lodge from 1:30 until 5:00pm! The Crystal Swing Band will be the main performance group. Current band members include Kristin Anderson-Bohan, drums, leader; Jenny Karel, bass; Del Mollenhauer, piano; Chaz Bowles, trumpet; Rex Spease, alto sax; and Roger Topliff, tenor sax. They are fantastic, so don’t miss it! There will also be performances by the UC Denver Claim Jumpers at 1:30pm, and the Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars at 3:50pm.

Sunday, December 21st (1:30-5pm) Annual Denver Jazz Club Holiday Potluck Featuring the Hot Tomatoes Dance Orchestra

Be sure to attend the Sunday, December 15th Denver Jazz Club Session at the Westminster Elks Lodge from 1:30 until 5:00pm! The Hot Tomatoes Dance Orchestra will be the main performance group. Current band members include Ward Durrett, drums; Rich Chiaraluce, tenor sax/clarinet; Kevin Bollinger, trumpet; Joe Lopez, Bass; Charlie Smith, trumpet; Michael Weaver, alto sax, clarinet & flute; Rich Maul, alto sax & clarinet; Dave Wiske, trombone; and Gary Dempsey, piano. Kevin, Charlie and Dave double as the band’s vocalists. They are fantastic, so don’t miss it! The UCD Claim Jumpers perform at 1:30pm and there will also be a performance by our very own Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars at approximately 4:00pm. This is the club’s annual holiday potluck, so everyone is invited to provide an entree, salad, appetizer or dessert to share. Admission is $8.00 per person for this special event.
