Be sure to attend the Sunday, January 15th Denver Jazz Club Session at the Westminster Elks Lodge from 2:00 until 5:00pm! The Crystal Swing Band will be the performance group. Current band members include Kristin Anderson-Bohan, drums, leader; Jenny Karel, bass; Del Mollenhauer, piano; Chaz Bowles, trumpet; Rex Spease, alto sax; and Roger Topliff, tenor sax. They are fantastic, so don’t miss it! There will also be a performance by our very own Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars at approximately 4:00pm.

The January/February Denver Jazz Club Newsletter is now available for download. There is info on the January performance of the Crystal Swing Band, as well as the Denver Jazz Club’s February “Spotlight on Youth Day,” featuring “Fast Eddie” Erickson with the DJC Youth All-Stars, UCD Claim Jumpers, and selected professional musicians. There is also information on our Youth All Stars upcoming performance tour to New Orleans. The Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars will be performing on Sunday, November 27th, at the Bull and Bush Pub (4700 Cherry Creek Drive South, Denver). They will be performing with Your Father’s Mustache Band from 6:00 until 9:00 pm. Don’t miss it!

On Sunday, November 20th be sure to attend the Denver Jazz Club Session at the Westminster Elks Lodge from 2:00 until 5:00pm. It’s the wonderful sounds of Your Father’s Mustache Band! You’ll hear Joe Petrucelli on banjo; Charlie Smith on trumpet; Gary Buss on reeds; Craig Hugo on trombone; Ray Leake on piano; Roger Johns on bass; Jim Moore on drums; Shelley McMillion on vocals; and Mike Johnson on washboard.
The Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars will also perform from 3:45 until 4:15 pm. They will feature their 2 newest musicians – Matt Guerrero on piano and Mason Stillman on drums. See you on November 20th!!
Congratulations to our New DJC Youth All-Star Pianist, Matt Guerrero, and Drummer, Mason Stillman!
Congratulations to Matt Guerrero, Senior from Chaparral High School, for being selected as the new DJC Youth All-Star pianist! He has been playing piano for 12 years! Matt studies with Hank Troy and plays in the CHS Jazz Band and Con Brio Choir.
Congratulations to Mason Stillman, Junior from Cherry Creek High School, for being selected as the new DJC Youth All-Star drummer! He has been playing drums for 5 years. Mason has been taking private drum lessons for 4 years, and plays in the CHS Jazz, Marching and Symphonic Bands. He is also a member of the Cherry Creek HS Percussion Ensemble.
Be sure to come hear Matt and Mason at their first gig with the Youth All-Stars on Sunday, November 20th at 3:45pm at the Westminster Elks Lodge.
