Summit Hot Seven with Chaz Bowles to be Featured on the Sunday, September 15th Denver Jazz Club Session at Westminster Elks Lodge

On Sunday, September 15th be sure to attend the Denver Jazz Club Session at the Westminster Elks Lodge from 1:30 until 5:00pm. You will hear the exciting sounds of Chaz Bowles and the Summit Hot Seven. Band members include: Chaz Bowles (trumpet/leader), Bill Pontarelli (clarinet), Marti Henry (trombone), Scott Grove (piano), Rory Thomas (banjo), Roger Johns (bass), and Don Grove (drums). The Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars will perform at 2:40pm. See you on September 15th!!

Annual Denver Jazz Club Potluck Picnic to Feature the Band Leaders Band

On Sunday, August 18th, from 1:30 to 5pm, it’s the annual Denver Jazz Club Potluck Picnic, at the home of Decker and Ann Westerberg (310 Shadycroft Dr) in Littleton. The Denver Jazz Club furnishes brats, burgers, hot dogs and drinks. Admission is $10.

Please bring a dish to share – salad, appetizer, dessert or snack, and enjoy an afternoon of great music and socializing!

At the picnic it’s the terrific sounds of the Band Leaders Band! Bill Clark, leader of the Queen City Jazz Band, will lead up the Band Leaders Band. You won’t want to miss it!

The Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars will perform from 1:30-2pm, and in between the 3 sets of the Band Leaders Band.

Joe Smith and the Spicy Pickles to be Featured at the Sunday, July 21st Denver Jazz Club Session (Westminster Elks Lodge)

The very entertaining Joe Smith and the Spicy Pickles will be featured at the Sunday, July 21st Denver Jazz Club Session, from 2 to 5pm, at Westminster Elks Lodge. This Denver based vintage jazz band is dedicated to revitalizing swing music and dance. They play big band swing from the late 30’s and early 40’s. Their influences include Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Louis Armstrong, Lucky Millinder  and Jimmie Lunceford. Trumpet player and vocalist Joe Smith started the band in January of 2013 to give dancers live music to swing out to. Come see what the younger generation of swing dancers have been hip to for the last six years! They were a big hit for the club the last 4 years!!

The Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars will perform around 4pm.
