HS TRUMPET PLAYER NEEDED!

The Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars are looking for a high school (preferably a non-senior) trumpet player who would consider joining our band! We would like to find a dedicated, hard-working Denver metro area high school musician who can sit-in, and play along, with our band at an upcoming Sunday rehearsal, starting on January 19th (6:45-9pm). Rehearsals take place at Denver Percussion (7399 S. Tucson Way, Centennial).

Our websites, www.bandresourcesunlimited.com, and www.youthallstars.denverjazzclub.com, have more information about the Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars. The band performs at clubs and various venues throughout the Denver area. A concert tour to New Orleans will take place this July. 

You’ll find PDF’s of music and recordings in the downloads section of our website, under documents and reference recordings. 

Please confirm, so we can plan on your attendance at a future Sunday rehearsal.??

The Sunday, January 19th Jazz Club Session to Feature the Crystal Swing Band!

Be sure to attend the Sunday, January 19th Denver Jazz Club Session at the Westminster Elks Lodge from 1:00 until 5:00pm! The Crystal Swing Band will be the featured performance group. They play music of the big band era: Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Harry James and others. Current band members include Kristin Anderson-Bohan, drums, leader; Jenny Schulte, bass; Eric Leonard, piano; Dawn Kramer, trumpet; Rex Spease, alto sax; and Roger Topliff, tenor sax.

They are fantastic, so don’t miss it! There will also be a performance by the UC Denver Claim Jumpers from 1 to 2pm, and the Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars perform around 4pm.

The January-February 2020 Denver Jazz Club Newsletter Has Arrived!

There is info on the January 19th performance of the Crystal Swing Band and the February 16th Mardi Gras Celebration performance of the Queen City Jazz Band.

The Hot Tomatoes Dance Orchestra to Perform at the Sunday, December 15th (1-5pm) Denver Jazz Club’s Annual Holiday Potluck

Be sure to attend the Sunday, December 15th Denver Jazz Club Session at the Westminster Elks Lodge from 1:00 until 5:00pm! The Hot Tomatoes Dance Orchestra will be the featured performance group. It’s a nine piece big band that specializes in swing, dance music, and big band jazz, at home with music for dancers and listeners, playing everything from R & B to Sinatra. They are fantastic, so don’t miss it! The UCD Claim Jumpers perform at 1:00pm, and there will also be a performance by our Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars at approximately 4:00pm. This is the club’s annual holiday potluck, so everyone is asked to provide an entree, salad, appetizer or dessert to share. Admission is $10.00 per person for this special event.
