Neil Bridge 7+ with Karen Lee will be Featured at the July 16th Denver Jazz Club Session

On Sunday, July 16th, you’re in for a real treat – The Neil Bridge 7+ and Karen Lee. They will perform from 2 until 5pm at the Westminster Elks Club. Neil Bridge is a classic American jazz musician, who has accompanied Mel Torme, Anita O’Day, Nancy Wilson, Dakota Staton, Johnny Smith, the Mills Brothers, Clark Terry, Sonny Stitt and many more. He was a pianist with the Denver Symphony, and performed with Henry Mancini, Richard Hayman, Steve Allen, Rich Little and Nelson Riddle. This seven piece band consists of Neil Bridge, piano, Ron Bland, bass, Larry “LT” Thompson, drums, Dr. Walter Barr, trumpet, Al Hermann, trombone, Chuck Schneider, reeds, and Karen Lee, vocals. All the musical arrangements for The Neil Bridge 7+ are written by Neil himself.

The Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars will perform at approximately 3:50pm. This will be the 2016-17 DJC Youth All-Stars’ final Club performance. The 2017-18 DJC Youth All-Stars will also be featured on a selection during the band’s abbreviated set.

June 18th Denver Jazz Club Session to Feature Joe Smith and the Spicy Pickles

The very entertaining Joe Smith and the Spicy Pickles will be featured at the Sunday, June 18th Denver Jazz Club Session, from 1:30 to 5pm, at Westminster Elks Lodge. This Denver based vintage jazz band is dedicated to revitalizing swing music and dance. They play big band swing from the late 30’s and early 40’s. Their influences include Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Louis Armstrong, Lucky Millinder  and Jimmie Lunceford. Trumpet player and vocalist Joe Smith started the band in January of 2013 to give dancers live music to swing out to. Come see what the younger generation of swing dancers have been hip to for the last four years! They were a big hit for the club the last 2 years!!

The Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars perform a short set around 4pm. This will be the All-Stars’ final Club performance before departing on their European Concert Tour!
