On Sunday, August 19th be sure to attend the Denver Jazz Club’s Annual Potluck Picnic at the Westerberg’s home (310 Shadycroft Drive, Littleton) from 2:00 until 5:00 pm. The Denver Jazz Club furnishes brats, burgers, hot dogs and drinks. Please bring a dish to share – salad, appetizer, dessert, or snack, and enjoy an afternoon of great music and socializing! It’s the exciting sounds of the Leaders Band, comprised of the leaders of several popular metro Denver jazz groups: Chaz Bowles, trumpet; Roger Campbell, clarinet; Eric Staffeldt, trombone; Hank Troy, piano; Dennis Condreay, banjo; Bill Clark, tuba; and Tony Pantelis, drums. The $8.00 admission entitles you to a great cookout, soft drinks, and beer. The Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars will also perform from 2:45 until 3:00 pm, and then again from 3:45 until 4:15 pm. DJC YOUTH ALL-STARS ON THE KUVO 89.3 FM HS/COLLEGIATE JAZZ RADIO SHOW
Be sure and listen to your DJC Youth All-Stars live on KUVO 89.3 FM radio on Thursday, July 26th from 7 until 8 pm. This is KUVO’s monthly high school/collegiate “Live at the Jazz Oasis” show. You are also welcome to be in the studio audience. KUVO is located at 2900 Welton St, #200, Denver.
Sunday, July 15th Session to Feature After Midnight Jazz Band (2-5pm)
On Sunday, July 15th be sure to attend the Denver Jazz Club Session at the Westminster Elks Lodge from 2:00 until 5:00pm! Award winning clarinetist Roger Campbell leads the hottest sextet since the Big Band Era! It’s the wonderful, sweet sounds of Roger Campbell’s After Midnight Band. The Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars will also perform an abbreviated set at 3:45pm. This will be the 2011-12 Youth All-Star’s final Club Performance before the new band takes over on August 5th. See you on July 15th!!
