Bob Schulz, Guest Cornet Player, to be Featured with the Queen City Jazz Band on Sunday, October 15th

The Queen City Jazz Band will perform with the great cornet player, vocalist and bandleader, Bob Schulz, on Sunday, October 15th, at the Denver Jazz Club Session, to be held at Westminster Elks Club (3850 Elk Drive). Bob Schulz is one of the last active players to have worked with Turk Murphy. His playing career spans three decades, and his teaching career goes all the way back to 1961.

The Queen City Jazz Band has been playing Mardi Gras music for nearly 60 years! Leader Bill Clark plays tuba, with Kevin Bollinger, trumpet; John Bredenberg, clarinet; Eric Staffeldt, trombone; Hank Troy, piano; Rory Thomas, banjo; Tony Pantelis, drums; and vocalist Wende Harston. Don’t miss this very special event!

Performances will take place from 1:30 until 5pm, with the Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars and the UC Denver Claim Jumpers alternating on abbreviated sets during the breaks of the Queen City Jazz Band. A full blown jam, with all 3 bands and Bob Schulz, will take place during the final 10 minutes of the afternoon.
