
CONGRATULATIONS 2018-19 DJC YOUTH ALL-STARS!

There is info on the November 18th performance of Your Father’s Mustache Band, and the December 16th Annual Holiday Potluck with the Hot Tomatoes Dance Orchestra.
You will find columns by Casey Hayes, Ed Danielson, Peter Robinson and John Sobott. There is also a message from the Denver Jazz Club Board regarding upcoming Board Vacancies. The passing of long-time club member Earl Bennett is included, along with a thank you to founding member and past president Dick Alderson, for hosting our Denver Jazz Club Board meetings at his barber shop – O’Brien’s Tonsorial Parlor – for as long as anyone can remember.
Also included, is the announcement of the Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars 10th Anniversary Performance with Alumni, at MUSE Performance Space (200 E. South Boulder Rd, Lafayette), on Sunday, November 18th, after the Jazz Club Session (6-8pm). Proceeds from the $15 ticket sales will benefit their upcoming European Concert Tour to perform in the Montreux, Switzerland International Jazz Festival.

Please join the Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars at their 10 year celebration concert on Sunday, November 18th, from 6 until 8pm.
The concert will be held at MUSE Performance Space (200 E. South Boulder Rd, Boulder). It’s going to be such a fun, entertaining performance!
All performers will be admitted free, and guests/audience members are $15. We are hoping you all will bring lots of friends and family to support this 10 year anniversary concert. Proceeds will help get our present 2018-19 band to the Montreux, Switzerland International Jazz Festival. We’ve already been invited to perform there this summer! The Queen City Jazz Band will be celebrating their 60th anniversary on the Sunday, October 21st Denver Jazz Club Session at Westminster Elks Club (3850 Elk Drive). Leader Bill Clark plays tuba, with Kevin Bollinger, trumpet; John Bredenberg, reeds; Eric Staffeldt, trombone; Hank Troy, piano; Rory Thomas, banjo; Tony Pantelis, drums; and singer Wende Harston. Don’t miss this very special event!
Performances will take place from 1:00 until 5pm, with the Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars and the UC Denver Claim Jumpers performing pre-concert and alternating sets during the breaks of the Queen City Jazz Band.
